The Basics of a Backyard Party Blog
Hosting a party can be stressful. You get so busy thinking about who’s going to show up, what food you’re going to serve, or what drinks everybody wants. You spend days or weeks thinking about this stuff and suddenly it hits you… “where is everybody going to sit?”, “what if it rains?”, “how am I going to keep all the food warm, and the drinks cold?”. People often get to the point where panic and stress set in, and your party slowly becomes more of a headache than you ever had thought. For those of us in the party rental industry, we see this all the time
The solution is really quite simple. Having enough chairs for all the guests to sit on, tables for them to sit at, or a tent for them to shelter under is just a click or two away. So many people fail to realize how easy these basics are to get.
It never fails, somebody will call us and say they have a birthday party coming up and are expecting 25-30 guests. After a short discussion, (1) 6’ table, (4) 8’ banquet tables and (30) folding chairs are ordered.
It’s usually at this point they will be asked if delivery is needed. The most common response is “I only drive an SUV, so probably delivery?” Now, although I will always deliver items that the customer needs, I also want to make sure they are treated fairly and understand their options. When I tell them all these things should easily fit in the back of their Explorer (provided the back seat collapses), they are shocked and usually a bit skeptical.
You see, in the event rental industry items have been designed with ease of transportation, setup, and quality in mind. Making transportation easier and items lighter and stronger is a natural progression. As it is in so many other industries. Banquet tables fold in half, chairs stack tight, and small frame tents get transported in wheeled bags and can be set up in minutes by just about anybody.
When I started Aboite Party & Event Rental I did so because I live in an area with a lot of large, family friendly subdivisions, and no shortage of backyards to entertain in. Birthday parties, graduations, baby showers, or even just a simple BBQ are all happening somewhere, each and every weekend in the spring, summer and fall. People are looking for quick easy solutions to the problems in their lives and we hope to provide one for all of their special moments. People need to be social, they need to have fun, and they need to do so without all the stress involved in making it happen. I hope Aboite Party & Event Rental is the first company that enters into people’s minds when they think “backyard party”.
